10 reasons to join the SocEnv Pathways Network:

We are launching the SocEnv Pathways Network to create a supportive community of future and current registrants who guide one another on their pathway through our registers.

In this article we will outline the top 10 reasons you should consider joining the new SocEnv Pathways Network.

1. Don’t navigate registration alone

Your registration journey is yours, but you don’t have to travel alone.

Many apprentices, students and early-career professionals don’t know anyone else going through the same process. This network gives you a dedicated space to get advice and support from like-minded individuals working towards similar goals. There are also opportunities to mentor your peers as you progress.

2. Learn from registrants who have been in your shoes

Get knowledge from those who have been there before.

Hear first-hand from REnvTech, REnvP and CEnv registrants who can share practical advice and lessons learned. Create long-lasting relationships with colleagues and develop connections to further your career.

3. Build your professional network early

Start growing your professional network from day one.

Many learners and apprentices don’t build professional networks until much later in their careers. Get a head start and develop relationships with professional from different organisations, sectors and career stages. We will also provide guidance on which of our professional bodies fit your career needs and connect you with them.

4. Discover new career possibilities

See where your environmental career could take you.

Explore different career routes, sectors and opportunities through guest speakers and networking. See where your environmental career could take you with inspiration provided at every opportunity.

5. Develop your professional confidence

Recognise the value you already bring to the profession.

Imposter syndrome and struggles with confidence aren’t uncommon amongst early-career professionals; starting out is scary and you aren’t alone. As a part of the SocEnv network you will develop confidence in your skills, experience and professional potential through support from peers and experienced professionals.

6. Influence the future of the profession

Help shape the profession as it shapes you.

You can shape the future of SocEnv activity and ensure that the voices of learners, apprentices and early-career professionals are heard. There are regular opportunities to give feedback and amplify your voice.

7. Access exclusive events and resource

Learn, connect and be inspired.

Attend online and in-person sessions with environmental professionals, registrants and sector experts. As a member, you’ll have first access to registration resources and guidance.

8. Better understand registration pathways

Turn your uncertainty into a plan.

Gain a clearer understanding of professional registration pathways and how to progress through them. Whether you’re an apprentice on the shortened route or an ELEnv, REnvTech or REnvP registrant looking to progress, there are valuable opportunities to learn more about the different routes to registration.

9. Be part of creating something great

As one of our founding members, you can make a lasting impact in a growing community. You can lead the way to create a sustainable future shaped by environmental professionals.

10. Get your voice heard

The environmental profession needs to hear the perspectives of students, apprentices and early-career professionals.

As a member of this network, you will have opportunities to share your views, provide feedback and help to influence future initiatives and activities.
